This construction machine drive device is provided with: a motor as a drive source; a reduction gear that decelerates the torque of the motor, and transmits the decelerated torque to a unit to be driven; and a brake mechanism that generates braking force opposing the torque transmitted by the reduction gear to the unit to be driven. The reduction gear has a casing within which lubricating oil is injected and within which the brake mechanism is provided. The brake mechanism is provided with: a ring-shaped brake piston; and a brake plate that generates braking force by means of pressing force of the brake piston.
