Summary:This construction machine drive device is provided with: a motor as a drive source; a reduction gear that decelerates the torque of the motor, and transmits the decelerated torque to a unit to be driven; and a brake mechanism that generates braking force opposing the torque transmitted by the reduction gear to the unit to be driven. The reduction gear has a casing within which lubricating oil is injected and within which the brake mechanism is provided. The brake mechanism is provided with: a ring-shaped brake piston; and a brake plate that generates braking force by means of pressing force of the brake piston. The brake piston has: a plurality of oil reservoirs, which are spaces provided to a plurality of locations in the peripheral direction of the brake piston and able to retain lubricating oil; an oil entrance through which lubricating oil rising during operation of the drive device is introduced to each of the oil reservoirs; and an oil exit through which lubricating oil retained at each oil reservoir is
