Summary:The present invention provides an elevator that prevents passengers from being inside the elevator car for a long time. The elevator (100) comprises a first pulse generator (31) mounted on a driving motor (30), two second pulse generators (22a, 22b) mounted on a speed controller (21), and an elevator control device (60). The elevator control device comprises a distance count comparator unit (613) and an elevator stop command unit (613) that emits a stop instruction to the elevator in case of abnormal conditions. When the output error of the second pulse generators output by the distance count comparator unit is the predetermined value or less, a rescue operation (130) instruction is emitted. When an elevator usage normal operation processing (110) or an elevator stop command part allows the elevator to temporarily stop, the elevator car is moved to the nearest floor to allow passengers to get off.
