Summary:Provided are a person-coexisting-type work robot and robot system having higher reliability in terms of safety. A work robot (1) is provided with an arm, a drive mechanism (30) and a control unit (5). The arm has a plurality of linking elements (3) connected so as to be able to rotate about an axis freely. The drive mechanism (30) has drive sources (31, 32), and a plurality of motive power transmission paths (301, 302) capable of transmitting motive power from the drive sources (31, 32) to the linking elements (3) each at a different speed or torque. The control unit (5) switches the motive power transmission paths (301, 302) on the basis of the result of detecting a moving body (6) including a person within a predetermined area (100).
