The invention discloses a method and device for multimedia data push and belongs to the technical field of information processing. The method comprises the steps of receiving mutual instructions; obtaining fragment information and time information of a currently played program; sending multimedia data acquisition instructions which carry fragment information, user identification for current terminal login and the time information; and receiving multimedia data matched with the fragment information, user characteristic data corresponding to the user identification and the time information. According to the method and device for multimedia data push, after obtaining the fragment information and the time information of the currently played program, a terminal sends the multimedia data acquisition instructions, a server pushes the multimedia data according to the multimedia data acquisition instructions; and due to the fact that the user characteristic data comprise personalized information of users, push accurac
