The embodiment of the invention discloses a video screen capturing method and device. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a screenshot request sent by a mobile terminal, wherein the screenshot request carries identification information of a target video file and relative position information of a target screen in the target video file; capturing the video screen at the corresponding position of the target video file according to the identification information of the target video file and the relative position information of the target screen; sending the captured video screen to the mobile terminal. Compared with the prior art, the video screen capturing method has the advantages that the screen is not locally captured at the mobile terminal, so that the problem that the screen of the target video file cannot be captured because the video in a specific format cannot be captured by an operation system can be effectively avoided.
