Summary: | The invention discloses a method for forecasting the traffic light waiting time of a vehicle based on a GPS and belongs to the field of intelligent transportation. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a forecasting formula of the single-light waiting time of a target vehicle, and utilizing least square fitting to obtain parameters in the formula according to GPS data; acquiring real-time GPS data of a bus and obtaining the traffic light waiting time of the bus based on the target vehicle single-light waiting time forecasting formula with parameters applicable to the bus. The relation of the single-light waiting time and a vehicle lining-up distance is established by using a mechanism modeling method, large-volume historical data are processed in an offline mode based on a data mining and machine learning theory, and finally a linear forecasting equation of the single-light waiting time is obtained.
