Summary:Provided are a display device and a television receiving device with which safety may be assured while a casing is segmented. A display device comprises: a display unit having a display screen in the front side thereof; a front cabinet which encompasses the peripheral edge part of the display unit; and a back cabinet which covers the rear side of the display unit. The back cabinet is formed from a back cabinet main body (41) in which an aperture (41a) is disposed, and a cover which is attached to the back cabinet main body (41) to close off the aperture (41a). The cover is configured from a material which differs from the material which configures the back cabinet main body (41).
