Summary: | The invention discloses a method for improving shock resistance of a building or a bridge. A disc-shaped metal damping member is arranged on the building or bridge; the metal damping member is provided with more than three disc-shaped steel plates; a frictional solid damping material is filled between every two disc-shaped steel plates; when the disc-shaped steel plates relatively rotate, frictional damping is produced between the disc-shaped steel plates and the solid damping material to achieve the purpose of consuming the seismic energy so as to improve the shock resistance of the building or the bridge.
