The purpose of the present invention is to provide polyhydroxyurethane microparticles which can be used for a wide variety of applications and have a narrow particle size distribution. Polyhydroxyurethane microparticles which are spherical polymer microparticles having particle diameters ranging from 0.1-300 [mu]m, and which are characterized in that a polymer constituting the microparticles has a chemical structural unit represented by formula (1) and/or (2) in the structure thereof and a bond -O-CO- in the formulae (1) and (2) is derived from carbon dioxide.
