The drug is finely prepared from the following crude drugs in parts by weight: 2-6 parts of bile arisaema, 2-5 parts of scorpion, 2-8 parts of antelope horns, 5-12 parts of rhubarb, 3-10 parts of senna leaves, 5-20 parts of compounds of glauber-salt and liquorice, 5-8 parts of acorus calamus, 0.5-1.5 parts of cinnabaris, 5-8 parts of nacre, 3-10 parts of juncus effuses, 2-10 parts of Chinese eaglewood, 1-6 parts of alum, 2-10 parts of gleditsia sinensis, 10-20 parts of fructus trichosanthis, 3-15 parts of radix curcumae, 6-15 parts of rhizoma cyperi, 3-15 parts of polygala tenuifolia, 10-20 parts of poria with hostwood, 5-15 parts of date seeds, 3-10 parts of scutellaria baicalensis and 10-15 parts of radix ophiopogonis. The drug has the effects on clearing phlegm and resuscitating, refreshing and clearing away the heart fire, eliminating convulsions and arresting convulsion, smoothing the liver and regulating vital energy, eliminating delirium and calming the nerves as well as clearing away heat and purging pathogenic fire.
