Summary:Disclosed are a method and a device for updating an input method system. The method includes: receiving a plurality of operation logs from a plurality of user terminals each which the input method system is installed in; extracting log entries from the received operation logs; determining the number of each type of log entries; transmitting the preset type of log entries to the user terminals, each which the input method system is installed in, according to the determined number so as to update the input method system. The operation logs record the log entries which indicate operations of inputting corresponding candidate items.
