The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining a cellulose fiber aggregate with little coloration and a cellulose fiber complex. Provided is a production method for a fibrillated cellulose fiber, wherein a cellulose fiber raw material is fibrillated and reduced. Also provided is a production method for a cellulose fiber aggregate comprising: a fibrillating step that fibrillates a cellulose fiber raw material to obtain a fibrillated cellulose fiber; an aggregate production step that uses the fibrillated cellulose fiber to obtain a cellulose fiber aggregate; and a reduction step. Also provided are the cellulose fiber aggregate that is produced and a cellulose fiber complex that includes a matrix material.
