Summary:The invention relates to a switch control panel (1), in particular for a motor vehicle, comprising an actuating surface (3) for manual action by means of an element (11), wherein the element (11) is in particular the finger of a human hand. The switch control panel (1) has a sensor which interacts with the actuating surface (3) such that the sensor generates a signal when the element (11) approaches the actuating surface (3) and/or when the element (11) contacts the actuating surface (3) and/or when the element (11) applies pressure to the actuating surface (3), wherein the signal is used to switch on and/or trigger a function in the manner of a switch signal. The actuating surface (3) forms a substantially closed surface.
