The method includes selecting music ringtone; providing a ringtone editting window with control keys and a time line, wherein each control key corresponds to one key of the mobile phone; setting beginning time and ending time on the time line under a stop playing state to correspond to operation of the keys by the control keys; and editting a part of the music ringtone from the beginning time and to the ending time and storing the part of the music ringtone.
