The invention relates to the field of biology liquid fuel, and in particular relates to hydrocarbon oil for a spark-ignition engine and a preparation method thereof. The hydrocarbon oil is characterized by comprising the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 60-85% of 99.9% refined methanol, 5-20% of octane number regulator, 1-35% of cold start accelerant, 0.06-0.09% of cosolvent, 0.03-0.05% of antioxidant anticorrosion detergent and 0.001% of coloring agent. Compared with the prior art, the hydrocarbon oil and the preparation method thereof provided by the invention have the beneficial effects that the hydrocarbon oil produced by the method is not layered and emulsified in 180 days, and the emission is reduced by 70-90%; and since the price of the hydrocarbon oil is 30-50% lower than that of fossil fuel, the economic performance is good, the octane number is 95-97, the using requirements of all spark-ignition engines are met, and the market potential is great.
