Summary:The pipe coupling has a housing (10) which can be constricted and in which the elastomer sealing collar (32) is arranged which has a C-shaped cross-section and sealing lips (36) extending towards one another. The meandering spring ring (44) which has a U-shaped cross-section and is provided with slots (74) is inserted into the respective annular groove (42) in order to support the sealing lip (36) on the collar web (34). When the housing (10) is constricted, the collar (32) is compressed in the circumferential sense and the sealing lips (36) rest smoothly on the pipe wall (55). At the same time, the spring ring (44) is constricted by the width of the slots (74) being reduced. The sealing lip (36) is supported by the spring ring (44) over a large area and the material of the collar (32) is prevented from flowing into and through the slots (74). The spring limb (68) which projects beyond the sealing lip (36) prevents the annular bead (56) sticking to the collar web (34). This pipe coupling is particularly suitable for use in the case of high operating temperatures and large temperature changes.
