The invention relates to a mutual inductor installation method and equipment. Mutual inductor installation space is set on a switch cabinet. A mutual inductor is upside down assembled in a hanging mode. A balance installer is placed on a bottom plate of the mutual inductor. A balance installer positioning plate, the bottom plate of the mutual inductor and guide pillars are connected through long bolts in a penetrating and a threaded mode. After the balance installer is started, the mutual inductor is pushed to stably and evenly move downwards until a primary connecting terminal is completely inserted in a connecting contact box of the switch cabinet. Every time a next long bolt is sequentially taken down, a short bolt is simultaneously replaced to fixedly connect the bottom plate of the mutual inductor and the guide pillars.
