Summary: | The invention relates to Ce3+ activated mixed halogenide potassium cryolite and a high energy image resolution scintillator. A scintillator composition comprises substrate material and an activating agent. The substrate material comprises at least one alkali metal or thallium, at least one alkali metal different from the alkali metal selected before, at least one lanthanide and at least two halogens. The activating agent is cerium. Besides, the Ce3+ activated mixed halogenide potassium cryolite and the high energy image resolution scintillator further comprised a radiation detector of the scintillator composition and a method used for detecting high energy radiation. The radiation detector constitutes a part of the Ce3+ activated mixed halogenide potassium cryolite and the high energy image resolution scintillator. |
