Summary:The invention provides a method and an apparatus for controlling a power transmission system in an electric car. The power transmission system comprises at least two drive units, wherein at least two car wheels arranged on different car axles of the electric car can be driven by the different drive units. The method involves adjusting the ratio of rotational torques, provided by the drive units for a preset rotational torque, under consideration of the power efficiency, applied for the drive units under preset operation conditions, in a first mode of operation; and adjusting the ratio of the rotational torques provided by the drive units for the preset rotational torque, independent of the power efficiency, applied for the drive units under preset operation conditions, in a second mode of operation.
