The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle (1). The motor vehicle has at least two vehicle axles (2, 3) which have at least two wheels (4-7). Each wheel (4-7) has a motor (8-11) for being driven independently. In addition, the motor vehicle has a steering gear (17). The steering gear (17) has a steering wheel (18) to determine the steering angle of at least one vehicle wheel (4, 5) of the vehicle axle, wherein the steering wheel (18) can be rotated to the maximum steering angle in each steering direction. When the maximum steering angle is reached, a force applied to the steering wheel (18) is detected, and the motors (8-11) are triggered individually based on the applied force so as to increase a yaw rate.
