Summary:The invention comprises an electrochemical element having at least one positive and at least one negative electrode (5, 6), the positive and the negative electrodes being arranged next to one another on a flat, electrically nonconductive substrate (1) and being connected to one another via an ionically conductive electrolyte (7). In this case, corresponding individual cells can be connected to one another by a plurality, preferably a multitude, of positive and negative electrodes being arranged next to one another in pairs on the substrate.
