Summary:The washing machine has a rod (23) of a damper (21) which uses a magnetorheological fluid which placed a micro clearance gap (57) between the rod and the yokes (39,48,49) and is inserted by a cylinder (22). A housing (65) that accommodates a bearing supports one end side of the rod and is accommodated inside of the cylinder. A protrusion (34) is formed in circumferential direction at the inner periphery of the cylinder. The housing is positioned and made into the axial direction of a cylinder by the protrusion.
