Summary:The disclosed ammonia-burning internal combustion engine is able to supply ammonia and a highly combustible material, which is more combustible than ammonia, to a combustion chamber. When the amount of ammonia supplied to the combustion chamber (2) increases, or when the proportion of ammonia supplied to the combustion chamber in relation to the total amount of ammonia and highly combustible material increases, the operating parameters of the internal combustion engine are controlled in such a manner that the air-fuel mixture supplied to the combustion chamber combusts more easily. Thus, the decrease in combustibility of fuel supplemented with ammonia can be curbed.
