The invention discloses a production process for soft montan wax. The process comprises the following steps: carrying out pretreatment like crushing and screening on brown coal, extracting the pretreated brown coal by using any conventional way so as to obtain a wax-rich solution, subjecting the solution to evaporative concentration, pumping the concentrated solution into a cooler by using a jet pump and allowing the concentrated solution to directly contact with cooling water with a temperature of 5 to 30 DEG C in the cooler in a violent turbulence state; allowing a wax-water mixture from the cooler to pass through a vacuum rotary drum filter so as to separate montan wax from water; delivering the montan wax obtained after filtration to a wax storing tank through a belt and carrying out standing; and pumping the separated water into a water cooling tower for cyclic utilization.
