The invention relates to a soluble fluorine-containing aromatic semi-alicyclic polyimide film material and a preparation method thereof. The invention belongs to the technical field of high polymer. The soluble fluorine-containing aromatic semi-alicyclic polyimide has a general formula presented as the following. A substituent on a benzene side group in a diamine monomer is trifluoromethyl, and a dianhydride monomer is alicyclic dianhydride. The diamine monomer containing trifluoromethyl and an ether bond is subjected to a condensation reaction with the alicyclic dianhydride monomer, such that the polymer material provided by the invention is synthesized. According to the soluble fluorine-containing aromatic semi-alicyclic polyimide provided by the invention, on a basis that a relatively high glass transition temperature is maintained, solubility is greatly improved, material optical transmittance is improved, and the material has good film-forming performance and relatively light color.
