Summary: | The invention provides a preparation method for titanium dioxide sol used for self-cleaning glass. The preparation method comprises the following steps: titrating a titanium source in an ice water bath until an alcoholic solution of titanium ions with a concentration of 0.1 to 4 mol/L is obtained in an anhydrous alcohol solvent, slowly adding hydrogen peroxide into the alcoholic solution drop by drop according to a volume ratio of 2-10: 1, adding a doping source according to a mass percentage of 1 to 5%, carrying out uniform stirring, and subjecting an obtained mixture to a reaction and ageing at room temperature for 2 to 6 h so as to obtain a sol precursor; and adding a pH value conditioning agent to adjust a pH value to be 6 to 8 to obtain a reaction precursor and subjecting the reaction precursor to hydro-thermal treatment at a temperature of 60 to 150 DEG C for 1 to 48 h to obtain the self-cleaning sol suitable for film forming.
