The invention discloses a mobile phone capable of starting an alarm via a short message and a method of the mobile phone. The mobile phone comprises a receiving module, an alarm clock module, a short message module and an analysis module; the receiving module receives the short message; the short message module is used for setting a secret key; the analysis module is connected with the receiving module and used for analyzing whether the short message contains the secret key or not; and the short message module is further connected with the analysis module and the alarm clock module. When the analysis module judges that the short message contains the secrete key by analyzing the short message, the short message transmits a signal to the alarm clock module to start the alarm clock module.
