Summary:Disclosed is a refrigerator (100) having a storage chamber (108), wherein the refrigerator (100) is provided with a freshness-retaining component generating means (131) which generates a freshness-retaining component for maintaining the freshness of stored products, a detecting means (36) which can detect the usage state of the refrigerator, and a control means (54) which performs a power-saving operation in which the operation of the electric load components in the refrigerator are suppressed or stopped by means of the detected output signals, wherein, when the power-saving operation is performed, the freshness-retaining component generating means (131) generates the freshness-retaining component which is supplied to the storage chamber (108).
