The invention discloses an absorption-type refrigerating system and method. The system comprises a first heat supply device, a second heat supply device, an absorption-type refrigerating device and a control device, wherein the control device is used for controlling and exchanging the first heat supply device to supply heat for a generator of the absorption-type refrigerating device through a first heat supply pipeline, or is used for controlling and exchanging the second heat supply device to supply heat for the absorption-type refrigerating device through a second heat supply pipeline; and an evaporator of the absorption-type refrigerating device is used for outputting refrigeration capacity to refrigerate. Besides a traditional direct-combustion-type heat supply device, a heat pump device can be adopted for supplying heat for the generator of the absorption-type refrigerating device, so that the absorption-type refrigerating device can be suitable for multiple occasions; and when the heat pump device is adopted for supplying heat for the generator of the absorption-type refrigerating device, heat flowing out of cooling water of the absorption-type refrigerating device can be recycled, thereby achieving the aim of saving energy sources further.
