Summary:The invention relates to a system for storing electric energy, comprising a plurality of storage cells (12), each having an operating voltage. An electric consumer (14) and a switching member (16) connected in series to the electric consumer, are connected in parallel with the storage cell. The switching member is closed once a threshold voltage has been reached or exceeded. The system comprises a control unit that is designed to control the switching member in such a way that the storage cell is discharged via the electric consumer. The invention also discloses a storage cell for storing electric energy.
