Summary:A forceps (10) includes an end effector assembly (100) having first (110) and second (120) jaw members. One or both jaw members (110,120) is movable relative to the other between a spaced-apart position and an approximated position for grasping tissue therebetween. One or both jaw members (110,120) includes an insulator (126) having at least one engagement knob (126c) extending therefrom and a tissue-sealing plate (112,122) including at least one engagement aperture (122b) extending therethrough and defining a tissue-sealing surface. The aperture (122b) is configured to receive the knob (126c) therein upon positioning of the tissue-sealing plate (122) atop the insulator (126) such that a free end of (126d) the knob (126c) extends through the engagement aperture (122b) and extends from the tissue-sealing surface. The knob (126c) is deformable from a first configuration to a second configuration, wherein the free end (126d) of the knob (126c) is permanently inhibited from passing through the aperture (122b), th
