Summary:In order to solve the problem that a seat cannot be smoothly mounted to a vehicle body because setting a seatback to a design reference position requires lock-off operation, a first surface (22a1) and a second surface (22a2) of a latch (22) are adapted to serve as permitting guide surfaces which permit the passage of a front leg (30F) of a striker when the first and second surfaces (22a1, 22a2) are forced to be in contact with the front leg (30F), and a third surface (22a3) provided to the inner edge of a containing space (22c) of the latch is adapted to serve as a stopper which is struck by the front leg of the striker, the third surface being formed at a position at which a rear leg (30R) is aligned with a lock groove (22b) of the latch when the front leg of the striker strikes the third surface.
