Summary: | Disclosed is a fault location method in which a fault is located using the voltage, current and transmission line constants of each terminal of a transmission line in which a fault is to be located. In this method, a simplified expression is obtained from a basic expression of a distributed constant circuit equation using a hyperbolic function by means of a second-order approximation using an approximation of a hyperbolic function, or alternatively a simplified expression is obtained by the division of both sides by means of a hyperbolic unction. The distance to the location of the fault from a prescribed end of the transmission line is calculated using the simplified expression. |
