Summary:The invention provides a wire rope possessing the functions, such as good identifiability. The wire rope (1) used in the medical field includes a rope body(1A) having a plurality of strands (2) that are twisted, wherein each strand including a plurality of wires (3) that are twisted and are made of metal materials. A thermoplastic resin material is filled between the rope body(1A) and the strands (2). By exposing the resin material out of the strands (2) on the surface of the rope body (1), a resin material spiral part (10A) is formed on the surface of the rope body (1A) taking the axis of the rope body (1A) as center.
