Summary:A puffer type gas-insulated circuit breaker is adapted to, when its movable electrode (3) separates from a stationary electrode (4), let an insulating gas (10) blow to an occurring arc (A) to extinguish the same. As insulated nozzle (1) is provided to direct the gas (10) toward the arc (A) and forms a gas passage (16) in cooperation with an insulating cover (2) which covers the movable electrode (3). The insulated cover (2) is formed of an insulating material which contains a filler for preventing energy lines of the arc (A) from entering the cover (2). Furthermore, the insulated cover (2) has a specific inductive capacity larger than that of the insulated nozzle (1) so as to make small the electric field strength at the front end of the movable electrode (3).
