A power unit for an electric vehicle (1) includes: a first power source (11) connected between a first node (A) and a second node (B); a first switch (SW1 (14))connected between the second node (B) and a third node (C); a second power source (12) connected between the third node (C)and a fourth node (D); a second switch (SW2 (15)) connected between the first node (A) and the third node (C); and a DC-DC converter (13) connected to the second node (B), wherein the DC-DC converter (13) changes an electric potential (VB) of the second node (B) by making the second node (B) connectable to the fourth node (D) or the third node (C), and an output electric power obtained from between the first node (A) and the fourth node (D) is supplied to an electric motor (M (2)).
