Summary:The present invention relates to a sensor with G-load absorbing shoulder. A sensor (25) is provided and includes a body (26) disposed at a point of measurement interest (20) on a rotor (12) at a radial distance from a centerline (122) thereof and having a substantially cylindrical shape and first and second opposing ends (27,28) and a sensing end (29) coupled to one of the first and second opposing ends (27,28), the other of the first and second opposing ends (27,28) being coupled to a communication system (30), the sensing end (29) including a sensing device (299) configured to generate a signal reflective of a detected condition at the point of measurement interest (20), and at least one of the first and the second opposing ends (27,28) being formed to define a shoulder portion (277,288) for absorbing gravitational loading.
