The invention discloses a method for releasing a sponge titanium ball from a reduction jar. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps of: I, lifting the reduction jar with the solid sponge titanium ball to a receiving position (1) of an ejection machine by a crown block, wherein the reduction jar with the solid sponge titanium ball is placed at the receiving position in a horizontal mode, and a round hole (2) is arranged at the bottom of the reduction jar; and II, inserting a push rod (3) through the round hole at the bottom of the reduction jar, wherein the diameter of the push rod (3) is about less than that of the round hole (2) at the bottom of the reduction jar; ejecting the solid sponge titanium ball out of the reduction jar to a receiving position (4) at a discharge end in an ejection mode; and lifting the solid sponge titanium ball to the next process by the crown block.
