The invention discloses a control system for high braking lights capable of being lightened in a grading manner and a control method. The control system comprises a vehicle body controller, a combination instrument, an ESP (electronic stability program) system, three groups of high braking lights, common braking lights and a brake switch K1. The vehicle body controller is connected with the combination instrument and the ESP system by a CAN bus, the three groups of high braking lights are respectively connected with the vehicle body controller by amplifier circuits, one end of each common braking light is grounded while the other end of each common braking light is connected with a BRAKE pin of the vehicle body controller, one end of the brake switch K1 is also connected to the BRAKE pin of the vehicle body controller, and the other end of the brake switch K1 is connected with a B+ end of a power source. The control method includes that the vehicle body controller acquires vehicle speed signals and pressure s
