Summary:Disclosed is a positive electrode for lithium secondary batteries that is provided with a positive electrode active substance layer having a granular positive electrode active substance made of a composite oxide comprising lithium and at least one kind of transition metal element, and at least one kind of binder material made of a polymer compound having at least one functional group. A conductive carbonaceous film is formed on the surface of said positive electrode active substance. Moreover, the polymer compound that constitutes the binder material is molecularly bound to the carbon atoms that constitute at least some of the carbonaceous film of the positive electrode active substance and has a composite compound made of the polymer compound bound molecularly to said carbon atoms and the carbon network constituting the carbonaceous film that contains said carbon atoms.
