Summary: | Disclosed is a fluorine-containing phosphate ester used to impart flame retardancy to an electrolyte solution in a nonaqueous secondary battery. The disclosed fluorine-containing phosphate ester is highly flame-retardant and provides high performance in terms of battery characteristics such as charge-discharge characteristics. Also disclosed are a method for manufacturing said fluorine-containing phosphate ester and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution and nonaqueous secondary battery containing said fluorine-containing phosphate ester. Further disclosed is a fluorine-containing phosphate ester that can be used to formulate a safer electrolyte solution composition that is good at dissolving an electrolyte. The disclosed fluorine-containing phosphate ester for use in a nonaqueous electrolyte solution is represented by general formula (1) and at least 30% of the weight thereof comprises fluorine atoms.
