The lithium-ion secondary battery charge holding method for charging and holding a lithium-ion secondary battery (101) using anode activating substance particles (135) made of a two-phase coexisting type anode activating substance (PM) in an anode plate (130) comprises a super-overcharging step (S7) for charging the lithium-ion secondary battery so that the SOC (state of charge) (SC) of the same may be a super SOC at or lower than 100 % but higher than a target SOC, a return-discharging step (S8) for discharging the lithium-ion secondary battery after the super-overcharging step so that the SOC may be the target SOC, and a holding step (S10).
