The invention relates to a novel method for preparing aluminum borate whisker. The novel method for preparing aluminum borate whisker comprises the following steps of: (1) crushing and grinding a copper-containing compound, an aluminum-containing compound and a boron-containing compound so that copper-containing compound powder, aluminum-containing compound powder and boron-containing compound powder are obtained; (2) uniformly mixing the copper-containing compound powder with water so that a copper-containing compound solution is obtained; (3) adding a mixture of the aluminum-containing compound powder, the boron-containing compound powder and a fluxing agent into the copper-containing compound solution, heating till the mixture is dissolved completely, cooling, drying, grinding and sieving so that a mixed raw material is obtained; (4) putting the mixed raw material in a high-temperature furnace to be sintered to obtain a sintered product; (5) putting the sintered product into hydrochloric acid to be soaked,
