Summary:The invention relates to a synergetic fire retardant methyltri(2,3-dichloropropoxy)silane compound containing two elements of Si and Cl and a preparation method thereof. The structure of the compound is shown in the specification. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: dropwise adding epichlorohydrin with certain molar ratio into methyl trichlorosilane at 25 DEG C; heating and reacting for a period of time; and distilling a low-boiling-point product out at a reduced pressure to obtain the methyltri(2,3-dichloropropoxy)silane. The methyltri(2,3-dichloropropoxy)silane disclosed by the invention has the advantages of high fire retardant efficiency, high intermiscibility with macromolecule materials, simple production process, less equipment investment and low cost and is easy to realize industrialized production.
