The selenium-gallium-aluminum-barium nonlinear optical crystal is prepared by the high-temperature melt spontaneous crystallization method or the Bridgman method, wherein the obtained BaAlxGa4-xSe7 (0<x<4) nonlinear optical crystal has the advantages that the nonlinear optical crystal has higher nonlinear optical effect, wider optical transparency range and good mechanical performance and is easy to process and store, etc. The BaAlxGa4-xSe7 (0<x<4) nonlinear optical crystal can be used to prepare the nonlinear optical element.
