The invention relates to a hydraulic drive traveling device for a maize harvesting machine. The device is characterized by comprising an engine, a belt pulley assembly, a volume adjustable hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor, a speed reducer, a brake, a front axle and two wheels, wherein the output shaft of the engine is connected with the input shaft of the belt pulley assembly; the output shaft of the belt pulley assembly is connected to the input shaft of the volume adjustable hydraulic pump; the volume adjustable hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor are connected through a high pressure oil pipe; the output shaft of the hydraulic motor is connected to the input shaft of the speed reducer, and the output shaft of the speed reducer is connected to the input shaft of the front axle through the brake; and the output of the front axle is divided into two paths which are connected to the two wheels.
