Summary:Provided is an absorptive article which does not have a kink and in which deformation of an absorbing-layer center section is always stable. An absorptive article has at least a liquid permeable sheet, a liquid impermeable sheet, and an absorbing body sandwiched between the liquid permeable sheet and the liquid impermeable sheet. The absorbing body consists of an absorbing-layer center section and an absorbing section located on the periphery of the absorbing-layer center section and having a lower mass per unit area than the absorbing-layer center section. Compressed grooves are formed, so as to surround the absorbing-layer center section, on that surface side of the absorptive article which makes contact with the wearer's skin. The compressed grooves are provided in at least along side edges on left and right sides in the width direction of the skin contact surface.
