Summary:The invention discloses a method for matching a number of voice over internet protocol (VOIP) terminal equipment. The method is implemented in a process for establishing talking connection between the voice over internet protocol terminal equipment and a server; a number collection module of the voice over internet protocol terminal equipment stores a detected user dialed number in a temporary memory; a figure rule is searched from a database for comparison and matching through a number matching module; all figure rules stored in the database form a detailed hierarchical tree-shaped route structure; each node of the tree-shaped route structure is the diagram rule in which state information is packaged; meanwhile, a special register for storing the figure rule state information is arranged. Through an entire flow mechanism of the method of the invention, the defect that the dialing rule of the VOIP terminal system is generally not flexible and cannot adapt to various actual network environments is overcome.
