A color clear coated stainless steel sheet which comprises a stainless steel base sheet and a color clear coating film formed on at least one side of the base sheet, wherein the color clear coating film contains a pigment having a mean primary particle diameter of 10 to 1100nm and the pigment volume concentration is 0.5 to 5.0%; and a process for the production of the color clear coated stainless steel sheet which comprises applying a color clear coating material containing a pigment having a mean primary particle diameter of 10 to 1100nm to a stainless steel base sheet in such a way as to give a color clear coating film having a pigment volume concentration of 0.5 to 5.0%.
